ZeeMaps for your Lists
17 January 2007
I start a new job in February, as a territory centric sales engineer for a controls systems company. Can’t wait to get to it. In preparing for this new life, and new industry, I am looking for a new set of tools to allow me to kick arse in this new position. I bought a new 8525 smartphone from wirefly.com - Great deals and rebates on phones from all of the major carriers -but with the best free offers and rebates available - this is a classic case of no “brick and mortar overhead” benefiting the customer.
Secondly, I turn to my software tools - sure there will be standard issue options- great, but if I wanted to be standard- I wouldn’t be looking. — I am a big fan of Google Maps- Google does a great job at allowing regular users to link into their system and show various places and locations on their maps. Programming REQUIRED. But when you dig deep down into which programming gurus around the world have already done, I found a small company that is allowing you to post your addresses in list form and see them on a map - INCREDIBLE TOOL for someone traveling and wanting to make multiple stops. This tool is from zeeSource and it is ZeeMaps. The front end still needs some work, but you can tell that the simple technology behind it can turn the way people do things upside down.
Get this - during my last month at OMNOVA, I shared this with the marketing department - and they will be mapping out where all of their website-hits come from, there by being able to tell what region is getting the message- and which ones are not. You get the idea.
Map away. - Matt
